Shukria is studying for her masters degree in Human Rights & Politics after completing her BA in Politics, Philosophy & Economics. For both of her degrees she has been awarded scholarships. As a resident of the UK but on international fee status, she’s had to overcome financial barriers to entering higher education. It is for this reason that she has a passion to also guide students who might be in a similar position. She aims to go into human rights advocacy and humanitarian work after her academics. She has also reflected her passion for rights and justice through writing poems on her experiences of sanctuary and the plight of her ethnic group- the Hazaras.
