BA, History and French
I’m MPhil student in History, where I hold a UK BAME Studentship in the Humanities. My master’s research looks at memory and memorialisation, with a focus on how the transatlantic slave trade is memorialised in England. Before coming to Oxford, I studied at the University of Sheffield, where I achieved my BA in History and French. In addition to this, I was previously a student member of Enactus Sheffield, where I set up and managed a social enterprise which supported high school students in a Sheffield state school.
Having come from an underfunded state school in England, I’ve experienced some of the practical and financial barriers that many young people face when applying to universities in the UK, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. I joined UniArk with the hope of using what I’ve learnt to support other young people into higher education and reach their potential.
